 My name is Laura Gustafson and I am teaching 5th grade ELA. I graduated from Texas State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a specialization in Reading. I grew up in Texas and always knew I wanted to be a teacher! My first teaching job was ELA 6-8th grade for 7 years, then I moved to Tennessee and taught 6th grade ELA and Social Studies for 2 years, then to Wisconsin where I taught 6-8th grade ELA for another 2 years. For the past 4 years, I taught 2nd grade in Bonney Lake, WA. I have 2 daughters: one is 22 and recently graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in Communications. The other daughter is 18, is a high school graduate, and is a student at Eastern Washington University majoring in Pre Med. I recently moved to Chehalis with my fiance and am excited about teaching 5th grade in Onalaska! Go Loggers! I will be teaching Language arts, Mr. Annan will be teaching Science, and Mr. Smaciarz for Math. We will be giving the students experience with rotating 3 times per day and using a locker. This will enable our students to get an understanding and feel of a more independent working environment, preparing them for middle school.
